This literally just happened and I knew I immediately had to make a blog post about it lol. Okay, so I like to get art commissions sometimes, right? Like I can draw, but sometimes I don't wanna... plus it's cool seeing my characters in other people's style. I usually use Toyhou.se for this because there's a whole subforum for people to post their commission prices. Super convenient, right? But I'm kinda picky... I love unique art styles! And not to say that these people's art styles aren't GOOD, I'm just not looking for anime styles (unless it's sparkly shoujo stuff then YES PLZ!!) which unfortunately makes up a large portion of styles on Toyhou.se.

But anyways I post on Twitter, you know, I'm like "Ugh it's hard to find new artists to commission, because I'm not really looking for anime stuff" and all Hell broke loose. On Twitter people can search for specific keywords and it'll bring up all the tweets across the entire Twitterverse that contain that word. Usually the most targeted keywords are money related like paypal, venmo, etc etc. Apparently "commission" is another of those words, because in like 5 minutes I got three different people in the replies of that tweet asking if I wanna commission them. Two of them even sent me a message! I get the online art scene is competitive and a pain in the ass but this just ain't the way to go about it.. you gotta let people come to You. I'm sure they were scammers anyways, because when you went to their profiles it was just all replies, no media or original tweets. Except for this one person who had a commission carrd but all their art varied WILDLY in quality, so I think a majority of it was traced.

I guess Toyhou.se is my best bet then? Just gotta dig a lil to find stuff I like...
